Rector

After a psychology degree at Durham and theology degree in Cambridge, Richard served two curacies in London – at Christchurch, Cockfosters and St Helen’s, Bishopsgate. He was Vicar of Burford for 20 years before being appointed Rector of Cheltenham. Richard is passionate about teaching the Bible so that the church loves Jesus more, flourishes and grows. He has an interest in theological education, through the training of curates and students. Richard is married to Nicola and they have four children who have left home. Richard enjoys reading, theatre, films, music and all country pursuits.

Curate

Stefan grew up in Swanage on the south coast, and thinks that the sea is the only thing missing from Cheltenham. He taught Physics in Somerset, and served on the School’s Chaplaincy team along with his wife Charlotte before they moved to London for theological education. Stefan enjoys being outdoors, playing sport, and fixing things in the garage. They have three young children.

Children & Families Minister

Charlotte has spent the last 10years being involved in youth & children's ministry in various parts of the South West. She has a passion for introducing children and their families to Jesus & the bible in different and fun ways.

In her spare time, she loves to explore new places, spend time with friends, bake and eat cake.

Youth Minister

Becca has a degree in criminology and spent just over 2 years working for the police commissioning services to support victims of crime. She was already involved in the youth team at St Matt’s before becoming the youth minister, and has a passion for sharing Jesus with young people, seeing them grow in their relationship with the Lord and working through the big questions with them!

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, and friends. She enjoys shopping, drinking vanilla lattes, walks and baking!

Associate Minister

Rowan grew up and studied in Sydney, Australia. After training for ministry he worked in various ministry roles in the UK and Sydney over the last 13 years.

His focus in the team is adult discipleship, pastoral care and evangelism.

He is married to Naomi, and they have four children. In his spare time Rowan relaxes by reading, running or a real ale.

Operations Manager

With a background in customer relations, marketing and office management, Rachel joined the team in 2020. She is married to James with three children. In her spare time, she enjoys keeping fit, baking and making things.

Administration Assistant

Working part time in the office since 2007 Luke’s role has evolved, but he currently oversees the technical aspects of the office.

When not at work he enjoys spending time with his family, silversmithing, art, and indie game development.

Practical Facilitator

Sarah has worked at
St Matthew’s since 2012 part time doing practical work, involving setting up for services and other activities. She also helps Jenny with the upkeep of both church buildings. When not working Sarah enjoys reading and walking
her dog, Alfie.

Cleaner

For over 20 years, Jenny has ensured that both churches are kept spick and span. She enjoys time with her grandsons and keeping busy.
