Youth

Here at St Matthew’s and the Minster we long for our young people to be passionate about Jesus and everything we can to provide a good foundation for a whole life of following Jesus, as well as navigating all the problems that teenage life throws up. Our church has a long history of investing in youth work, across the town and within our church family. We’re still working out what that looks like post-pandemic, but below you’ll find a few things that are happening at the moment.

Ignite Sunday is our youth group
for years 7-10

We meet every Sunday morning as part of the Ten O’clock service. After the first 20 minutes we leave the Service and meet in our comfy youth room. We have a great time thinking about the truths of Christianity and how it effects our lives today. There are always games, snacks and time to pray for each other.

On the first week of the month we start out in the youth room, with breakfast, and join the service later,  just before Communion.

6.30 Service
for Years 10-13

Most of our older youth (Yr10+) come to our 6.30pm service, which is particularly aimed at youth, students and young adults, but we are blessed with a diverse age range that really makes us a family.
